Health Benefits of Marijuana | Why you should smoke ?! 👍

Now, am I going to suggest you smoke? Yes, however like anything it must be done modestly. Anyone who smokes weed knows it is better for you than alcohol.💯
The cannabis plant has been used to treat various ailments for thousands of years. Cannabis Sativa has over 400 compounds and tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is the most popular among them.
Cannabidiol or CBD, discovered only a few years ago by mainstream science, has been found to have a host of therapeutic benefits. The FDA ratified the use of CBD to treat various forms of chronic childhood epilepsy in 2018.
A drive towards legalization and widespread change in perspective regarding the safety of marijuana has, in part, contributed to a belief that the plant is an effective remedy for various ailments. At least 84% of the American public believes that marijuana should be used for medical purposes. On the other hand, smoking weed has never been this less controversial.
The majority of the States in the US have now made cannabis available for medical and - in some States - recreational use. A recent study indicates that marijuana use is increasing steadily for both recreational and medicinal purposes.
Nevertheless, it is crucial to weigh in the current medical research regarding marijuana to get a better view of what it can do and what it cannot. Scientists lament the current restrictions on cannabis research because the substance is still not federally legal. That means there is still a lot to learn about marijuana and its compounds.
So far, scientists have identified up to 400 compounds in the marijuana plant. CBD and THC are among the most popular and researched compounds. Many of these cannabinoids could have therapeutic benefits that we still don't know about.
The following are some of the benefits that we currently know, and which there is some medical evidence to back it.

Drug Addiction and Alcoholism

A comprehensive review of current research indicated that Cannabis Sativa could help tone down on opioid and alcohol abuse. Marijuana is safer than alcohol, and you can use it to substitute alcoholism.

However, this finding may be contentious, as some studies indicate a possible risk of addiction and abuse. The risk is especially more for people that started using marijuana at a young age.

Weight Loss and Management of Diabetes

You may have noticed that an avid marijuana user does not have problems with their weight, at least most of them. Typically, cannabis helps manage the intake of calories and insulin conversion.

It is this impact on insulin that helps prevent or manage diabetes - some good news for people struggling with diabetes. One major study has linked the use of cannabis to lower blood pressure, stabilizing blood sugars and better circulation.

Improved Lung Capacity

For a long time, smoked marijuana has been receiving a bad rap, mostly because it is almost like tobacco, at least according to some people. However, nothing could be further from the truth. If anything, marijuana does not cause any harm to the lungs unless you smoke tobacco. A study published in the Journal of American Medical Association found that cannabis can increase lung capacity and does not cause any harm to them.

Looking for risk factors of heart disease, researchers examined more than 5000 adults over a period of 20 years. While tobacco users experienced reduced lung function over time, it was the opposite of marijuana users. Their lung function indicated a considerable improvement over two decades.
The improved lung capacity may be from taking deep breaths when smoking pot. Whatever the case, there is no evidence that smoking marijuana causes any harm to the lungs. A report by the National Academies states that studies indicate marijuana smokers are less likely to develop cancer compared to tobacco smokers.

Epilepsy

Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome are some of the most severe forms of childhood epilepsy. The good news is that the FDA has approved cannabidiol-based drug for the treatment of the two conditions.
Cannabidiol is among the many naturally occurring compounds in the cannabis plant. But unlike its cousin, tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, CBD does not have any high. Epidiolex was approved after various scientific and clinical studies that indicated its effectiveness and safety with childhood epilepsy.

One particular study in 2017 found that consumption of CBD resulted in fewer seizures in children living with Dravet syndrome compared to the placebo. The Dravet syndrome seizures are repetitive, prolonged and potentially lethal.
In a study, 120 children aged between 2 and 18 received an Oral solution of CBD together with their medication for dravet syndrome for about 14 weeks. It was found that most of the children went from having about 12 seizures to 6 within a week. Three of the children in the study did not experience any seizures within the period.
According to the researchers, a 39% reduction in seizures is quite compelling evidence found to indicate the effectiveness of the marijuana compound, CBD, with childhood epilepsy. There is also some evidence suggesting that CBD can be quite effective with drug-resistant epilepsy.
There are numerous reports from parents that say it is only CBD that helps control seizures in their children.

Chronic Pain

In 2017, there was an extensive review of more than 10000 studies by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, on the medicinal benefits of marijuana. The survey found that the product containing cannabinoids or the marijuana plant was effective in managing chronic pain.
There are now CBD creams and balms that people suffering from arthritis pain can use for relief.

Cancer

Evidence  suggests that oral marijuana products can be quite useful with nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Some small studies indicate smoked cannabis can help alleviate nausea and vomiting.

There is also some evidence on cancer cell research that indicates cannabis can throw down or eliminate cancer cells in the body. However, some of the earlier studies seem to contradict this finding.

Depression, Social Anxiety and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder

A review  of all scientific literature on the use of cannabis to treat symptoms of mental illness found that it may be useful with post-traumatic stress disorder and depression symptoms. Nevertheless, the authors of the review cautioned that marijuana might not be quite effective with psychosis and bipolar disorder.

The same review also highlights some evidence on the treatment of social anxiety using marijuana. Cannabis has also shown promise in calming down violent moods in children with autism.

Strong Bone Structure

There is some evidence indicating that CBD can strengthen your bones and reduce the chances of breaking. The compound also helps quicken the healing process and can be quite useful for athletes.

Of course, this is among the reasons why some of the people participating in particular games use CBD products when training.
At the end of the day, cannabis isn't bad for you, just as bad for you as a tomato or green bean. Yes, I'm basis. I love cannabis. Of course, I support people smoking it, however as long as it doesn't hurt you or anybody else. If you smoked an ounce a day with blunts eventually that would hurt you. Remember everything must be done in moderation.
